Joyce Ann (Moon) Sohonage, 67

of Dawson (Lower Tyrone Township) passed away at 8:32 PM Thursday, June 25, 2026 in WVU’s Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. Joyce was born on December 6, 1958 in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Vincent and Evelyn (Stahl) Moon.

Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was a graduate of Frazier High School and Westmoreland County Community College where she received a bachelor’s degree in computer programming.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her loving partner Bartley Hopping; crocheting, playing her games online, listening to her music, and spending time with her grand kids.

Joyce is survived by her loving family; her two children Autumn Sohonage Kozakovsky and Raven Sohonage; her sister, Shirlene & (Geoge) Loudon; her brother, George Moon & sister -n- law, Hunni Moon; her grandchildren George, Stephen, Abigail, Nicholas, & Sebastian Kozakovsky, Tarren Blackburn, & Gunner Davis; and several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; her brothers, Dennis & Jim Moon; and her grandson, Evyn Jai.

Private services with interment in Green Ridge Memorial Park took place at the convenience of the family.
