Jon Joseph Rupnik, 80 of Mount Pleasant (East Huntingdon Township) passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Independence System's Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. Jon was born June 5, 1943 in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, a son of the late Joseph and Thelma (Schell) Rupnik. He married Joyce M. (Merwin) Rupnik on April 19, 1969. Jon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Franklin Regional High School, Class of 1961 and received a BS degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Jon was employed as a systems analyst with Westinghouse Corporation for close 30 years. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant American Legion Post #446 and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, golfing, computers, and playing cards. A veteran of the US Army, he served as a First Lieutenant during the Vietnam War. Jon will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 54 years, Joyce M. (Merwin) Rupnik; his two sons, Daryl Rupnik (Sherry Pinto) and Kirk Rupnik (Caroline); and his grandson, Hunter Rupnik. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Rupnik. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B.
