John A. Sokolowski, 62, of Dawson, (Lower Tyrone Township), passed away at 10:50 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant.

John was born Sept. 20, 1959, in Pittsburgh, a son of Beverly (Palmer) Sokolowski Goode, of Georgia, and the late John Richard Sokolowski. John married Billie Jo (Bolt) Sokolowski on May 3, 2014.

John was a devoted husband, son, father and brother. He was a professional exterminator and proprietor of Steel City Pest Services in Pittsburgh. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. and took pleasure in golfing, woodworking, and hunting. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed taking his RV camping.

John will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of eight years, Billie Jo (Bolt) Sokolowski; his mother, Beverly (Palmer) Sokolowski Goode; his stepson, Max Dixon and girlfriend, Kortney Rappold of Hutchinson; his three sisters, Stacie (Sokolowski) Haney and husband Dave of Virginia, Dallas (Popinsky) Maas and husband Ray of Tennessee, and Kristal (Popinsky) Cheshire of Irwin; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Dr. Marvin Watson officiating.

Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Cochran Cemetery.
