John Nicolas Snyder, 85, of Scottdale, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the Harmon House Convalescent Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. He was born Nov. 6, 1931, a son of the late John J. and Magdalen (Macek) Snyder of Scottdale. John is survived by his loving family, his wife of 60 years, Joyce Louise (Baird) Snyder; his daughter, Jacqueline Brigman, and her husband Robert Brigman; his son, Jeffrey Snyder, and his wife Donna Snyder; John's grandson, Patrick Snyder; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Emanuel Snyder and Theodore Snyder. John was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. John served in the Korean War and then worked as a butcher for the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co. for more than 30 years. In his spare time, he and his wife enjoyed traveling the globe. He also enjoyed carpentry and playing/watching sports.

At the request of the decedent, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private funeral graveside service will held Wednesday, June 28, for immediate family members only at Barren Run Cemetery in South Huntingdon Township.
