John W. "Bill" McKelvey, 72 of Scottdale, passed away at 10:50 PM Friday, September 24, 2021 at his residence. Bill was born June 11, 1949 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John William McKelvey Sr. and Davene (Winstone) McKelvey. He was also predeceased by a daughter Patricia John of Alaska. He is survived by his wife Barbara A. (Dewar) McKelvey and two sons, John William "Bill" McKelvey, III, and Scott A. (Angela) McKelvey of Scottdale, grandchildren Riley and Raegan McKelvey of Scottdale, Daniel and Erik Nault of Alaska, and step-grandchildren Haylee and Garrett Craig of Scottdale.  He is also survived by a sister Diane McKelvey Yeingst of Doylestown, PA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill worked as a brakeman for CSX Railroad for 12 years. A veteran of the US Army, he served in Alaska as a private during the Vietnam War.  Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and his love of walleye fishing in Lake Erie will be carried on in his memory through his family.
