John F. "French" Huff, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at his residence. French was born Oct. 10, 1940, in Lower Tyrone Township, Fayette County, a son of the late Cecil R. and Helen R. (Newell) Huff. He married Sharon A. (Clawson) Huff on June 17, 1983. French was a devoted husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was employed as an over-the-road truck driver with Eazor Trucking and Central Transport for many years. A member of Armbrust Wesleyan Church, French loved to hunt and fish with his sons and brothers-in-law. He also enjoyed bicycling, walking trails, and going to the YMCA. He was a man with a good sense of humor and truly loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren! French will be sadly missed by his loving family, his wife of 35 years, Sharon A. (Clawson) Huff; his three children, Jay Huff and wife, Kandi, of Pensacola, Fla., Dana Vecchio and husband, Geno, and Pat Huff and wife, Barb, all of Mt. Pleasant; his nine grandchildren, Megan Perez and husband, Eddie, Stacey Henley and husband, Keith, Ryan Huff, Summer Huff, Jennifer Mitchell and husband, Brian, Shane Vecchio, Shania Huff, Mariah Huff, and Emilie Serena; his six great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lincoln, and Remington Perez, Emery and Tobias Henley, and Kasen Huff; his siblings, Donna Beeson and husband, John, of Vanderbilt, Helen Robbins, of Connellsville, Ernie Huff, of Dawson, James R. Huff and wife, Linda, of Connellsville, and Blaine E. Huff, of Everson; several brothers-in-law, James Clawson, Raymond Clawson and wife, Laura, and Robert Clawson and wife, Geri, all of Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Meneely; brothers, Rowland C. Huff and wife, Ruthann, and Clifford T. Huff; brother-in-law, Ronald Robbins; sister-in-law, Joyce Lutman; and his father- and mother-in-law, Harvey J. and Thelma M. (Paul) Clawson.

Family and friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday with his nephew, Shawn Robbins, facilitating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery.
