Jesse James "Jim" Sprinkle, 89, of Scottale passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 23, 1937 to the late Jesse and Ruth (Lind) Sprinkle in Scottdale.

Jim graduated from East Huntington High School in the class of 1955.

He worked for 50 years in the printing business, starting at sixteen with Mennonite Publishing House and ending his career at Laurel Group Press, as Sales Manager.

He was a member of the Scottdale Mennonite Church and over the years, at North Scottale and Kingview Mennonite Churches, he served as a Sunday school teacher, Worship leader and Elder.

He loved fishing and hunting, camping along the Allegheny River near Warren, PA with family.

He was also a member of many bowling leagues over the past 50 years. He bowled a number of 300 games and continued to bowl until the last half of this year. Jim always enjoyed watching his two grandchildren Samantha and Kyle participate in many sport activities and was so proud of their accomplishments.

Jim leaves behind his wife of 67 years Jane (Stants) Sprinkle, his loving companion; his daughter Traci (Jeffrey) Rhodes; his two grandchildren Samantha (Kyle) Swan and Kyle (Valerie) Rhodes all of Scottdale; his four special great-grandchildren Reese and Rocco Rhodes and Archie and Sylvia Swan. Jim was "Poppy" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister Nancy Keyser; his brother Rodney (Barbara) Sprinkle; his brother-in-law, Wendell Stants; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Timothy James Sprinkle on August 17, 2025; his parents Jesse and Ruth (Lind) Sprinkle; his brother Jerry Sprinkle and his wife Rebecca; his father and mother-in-law Wendell and Dorothy Stants; his sisters-in-law and their husbands Rachel (Duane) Baird, Kathleen (Kerry) Brown, and Betty Stants.

Jim's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to his long time doctor, Dr. Mark Williams and his staff for their compassion and care and to Monarch Hospice for their care and support. He will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts. We know he is resting in peace, reunited with his son and his parents.
