In his younger days, he loved taking rides on his motorcycle and attending various car shows, fairs, and the Dawson Grange for tractor pulls. Jay enjoyed spending time at the Brownfield Community Center; loved Sunday visits at the home of his aunt and uncle, Grace and Clyde Herbert; and the bonfires and picnics at the home of his cousin, Jeffrey.
