Janine Sue Fretts, 61 of Scottdale, passed away at 2:12 p.m. Sunday , New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 2023, in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe. Janine was born Sept. 29, 1961, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of Diane "Terri" (Argiro) Fretts of Scottdale and the late Ralph C. Fretts Sr., who passed away on Dec. 17, 2011.

Janine was devoted daughter, sister, and aunt. She was a graduate of Southmoreland High School, Class of 1979. Janine loved The Lord and she received her spiritual guidance from Rev. Ruth Bayura of Scottdale. Janine also loved caring for and riding horses, fishing, creating art, "The Beatles," playing cards, and bingo. She adored all living creatures.

Janine will be sadly missed by her loving family, her mother, Diane "Terri" (Argiro) Fretts; her sister, Shirlee (Fretts) Johnson; her brother, Ralph C. Fretts Jr. and his wife Jami (Atkinson) Fretts; her nieces and nephews, Charles Johnson Jr., Daniel and Jessica (Hemmerle) Johnson and their son, Leo Morales, Jordan and Matt Sosko and their children, Emma and Jack, and Nico and Laken Comsa and their children Rome and Evangeline; her uncle, Joseph "Pep" Argiro; her dearest friend, Linda Dickson; and her caregiving friends from Home Instead Senior Care of Export.
