Jane Byers, 94
of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township) passed away at 9:07 AM Thursday, March 12, 2026 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Jane was born March 10, 1932 in Mount Pleasant, a daughter of the late Vincent R. and Anna (Sikon) Konzal. She was married to Zane T. Byers, who passed away on January 6, 2000.
Jane was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She graduated from Scottdale High School, Class of 1949 and Durbin’s Secretarial School. Jane was employed as a secretary for more than 25 years with Crown Metal Products and was a lifelong and faithful member of the Partner Parish of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Everson. She belonged to the Laurel Swingers Square Dancers and Tee Pee Stompers and enjoyed traveling and photography. Jane and her husband Zane were “Snowbirds” during the winter months at St. Petersburg, Florida.
Jane will be sadly missed by her loving family; her daughter, Carol Lehman and her husband Tom; her granddaughter, Beth Ann Lehman and her wife Jean Halstead; and her brother, Vincent J. Konzal and his wife Elisabeth of Wurzburg, Germany.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). At Jane’s request, there will be no public viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Monday in the Partner Parish of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Everson with Rev. Father Michael Sikon as celebrant. (Please go directly to the Church). Graveside committal service and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family expresses a Special Thank You to Independence Hospice nurses Daryann and Christy and aide, Lori for their loving care.
