James R. Toth, 95

formerly of Everson, passed away peacefully with his beloved daughter Catherine and sweet pup Daisy by his side at 5:45 PM Thursday, July 24, 2025 in Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. Jim was born on July 18, 1930 in Everson, a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Flora) Toth. He married Mary Ellen (Ryan) Toth on May 12, 1962 and she passed away on September 7, 2021.

Jim was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He graduated from East Huntingdon High School, Class of 1949 and was employed as a machinist at Duraloy Blaw-Knox in Scottdale for 30 years, retiring in 1981. Jim was a faithful member of the Partner Parish of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Scottdale and the Holy Name  Society. A veteran of the US Army, he served his country from 1052-1954 during the Korean Conflict at Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family; his four children, Elizabeth A. Walters, Michael W. Toth and his wife Michelle, John R. Toth and his wife Dayna, and Catherine L. Majka and her husband Kevin; his grandchildren, James (Jordan), Rebecca(Dylan), and John (Marianna) Toth, Ryan and Chloe Walters, and Ethan and Emerson Toth; his two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Liam Toth; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter; and his three brothers,Bill, Paul, and Jack Toth.


Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday and 10-10:30 AM Wednesday, the time of Prayers of Transfer, in the funeral home chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Wednesday in the Partner Parish of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale with Rev. Father Tomas Avila as celebrant. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors bestowed by the Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard. Love Lasts Forever!
