James Sturtz, 75, of Scottdale, passed away at Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021. Jim was born Oct. 26, 1945, in Connellsville, a son of James Meryl Sturtz and Emma Jean (Steele) Sturtz. He married Lois (Martin) Sturtz July 14, 1973. Jim was a devoted husband father, grandfather and brother. Jim was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, and in the past Jim was employed selling insurance for Westmor Insurance Agency in Scottdale. Jim enjoyed shooting pool and playing basketball. Jim liked watching college and professional basketball, and Jim was a basketball referee for many years at the high school level. Jim was also an umpire for the local softball leagues. Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family, his three children, Michele Parrish and husband, Jeff, Jamie Brumbaugh and husband, Chase and Matthew Sturtz and wife, Kelly; his four grandchildren Jonathan, Alyssa and Samantha Ferguson and Logan Sturtz; and his two sisters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Malik and Cindy Riedman and husband, Tom. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Lois. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2021, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, in the funeral home chapel followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Kathy Barnhart officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Scottdale Cemetery, next to his late wife. Love Lasts Forever!
