James Sturtz, 75, of Scottdale, passed away at Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021. Jim was born Oct. 26, 1945, in Connellsville, a son of James Meryl Sturtz and Emma Jean (Steele) Sturtz. He married Lois (Martin) Sturtz July 14, 1973. Jim was a devoted husband father, grandfather and brother. Jim was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, and in the past Jim was employed selling insurance for Westmor Insurance Agency in Scottdale. Jim enjoyed shooting pool and playing basketball. Jim liked watching college and professional basketball, and Jim was a basketball referee for many years at the high school level. Jim was also an umpire for the local softball leagues. Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family, his three children, Michele Parrish and husband, Jeff, Jamie Brumbaugh and husband, Chase and Matthew Sturtz and wife, Kelly; his four grandchildren Jonathan, Alyssa and Samantha Ferguson and Logan Sturtz; and his two sisters, Elizabeth (Betsy) Malik and Cindy Riedman and husband, Tom.
