James Earl Rimel Jr., 73 of Scottdale

passed at home holding his daughter’s hand and surrounded by family at 4:34 AM Sunday, September 6, 2026. Jim was born on August 25, 1953 in Connellsville Hospital, a son of the late James E. Rimel Sr. and Dorothy (Boone) Rimel. He was married to Carol Ann (Blaine) Rimel and she passed away on October 3, 20(. ).

Jim was a graduate of Frazier High School, Class of 1973 and was employed at US Steel’s Homestead Works and at the Doan’s Pet Care factory in Everson. He was a faithful member of the Dawson Baptist Church and a member of the Bible Prayer Study group. Jim enjoyed gardening, feeding the squirrels, and had a love of animals especially his pet chihuahuas.

Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family; his daughter, Stacy Black and fiancé, Brent A. Jill; his son, Jody Lee Rimel and wife Heather; his grandchildren, Lucas Wingrove and fiancée Tayler Eddy, Alexis Jacobs, Gage Jacobs and fiancée Ashley Adams, Kaden Rimel, Kian Rimel, and bonus grandson, Frank John Lovasz III; his great grandchildren, Lillian, Axel, and Savannah Wingrove; his sister in law Beverly Rimel; and nephews Jason and Rick Rimel and family. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Rimel.

Family and friends will be received from 12-2 PM Saturday in the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD STREET, DAWSON followed by a Memorial Service at 2 PM Saturday with Pastor Lonnie Rittenour officiating. Love Lasts Forever!
