James Edward "Ed" Lynn, 60 of Dawson, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Ed was born December 2, 1958 in Charleroi, a son of Audrey Jean (Williams) Lynn of Uniontown and the late Dale Lynn Sr. He married Beth Ann (Keffer) Lynn on July 23, 1986.
Ed was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. Prior to his illness, he was employed as a lead plumber with Newco Mechanical in Scottdale as an equipment operator at 7 Springs Resort. He attended Belle Vernon High School and the Central Career Technical Center, graduating in 1976. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during peacetime and was a life member of the Dawson Volunteer Fire Department. Ed also was a member of the Fayette County Special Fire Police and Forestry Fire Fighters. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, and his grandchildren.
Ed will be sadly missed by his wife of 32 years, Beth Ann (Keffer) Lynn; his mother, Audrey Jean (Williams) Lynn; his step-mother, Carol Lynn of Weston, WV; his children, Jim Chaney (Kathy) of Jeannette, Annette Chaney of Belle Vernon, Jonathan Lynn (April) of Greensburg, Jesse Lynn (Belinda) of Vanderbilt, Earl Lynn at home, and Emma Lynn of Dickerson Run; his 15 grandchildren; his four great grandchildren; his siblings, Dale Lynn Jr. Of Perryopolis, June Lynn Johnson of Rostraver Twp., Lisa Swiantek of Rostraver Twp., Emerson Lynn of Texas, Kevin Lynn of Smithton, Roberta Strelecki of Allenport, Carol Lee Langford of Perryopolis, and Cheryl Thompson of Charleroi; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Curtis Lynn; his father and mother-in-law, Jesse and Ellen S. (Campbell) Keffer; and his step-daughter, whom he adored, Joy Haines.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD STREET , DAWSON ( 724-529-2611 / www.fergusonfunerals.com ). Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 8 PM Thursday with Pastor Bryan Kelley (Bethel Baptist Church) officiating. The Dawson VFD will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 PM Thursday and the Connellsville Veterans Association will bestow military honors at 7:45 PM Thursday , both in the funeral home.
