James R. Knight Jr., 61, of Dawson, passed away Monday evening, July 26, 2021, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. Jim was born July 11, 1960, in Connellsville, a son of James R. Knight Sr. of Dawson and the late Sandra E. (Heinbaugh) Knight, who passed away on June 17, 2021.

Jim was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and companion. He graduated from Connellsville High School, Class of 1976, was employed as a painter, and years ago, worked at Duraloy Blaw-Knox in Scottdale. Jim was a people person and enjoyed social gatherings with family and friends.

Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family, his father, James R. Knight Sr.; his longtime companion and girlfriend, Kathy Miller; his children, Ryan Swink, Jen Fuller (Mark), Heather Ritenour, James Knight III, Whitney Knight, and Jamie Knight; several great-grandchildren; his sister, Sandra L. Hughes and husband Ronald of Connellsville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Knight on Aug. 29, 2020.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH E. GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 Railroad St., Dawson (724-529-2611 / www.fergusonfunerals.com ). There will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at 140 Geary Drive, Connellsville.
