James Hunter Jr., 80, of Everson, passed away at 5 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, in UPMC, Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Jim was born Dec. 19, 1941, in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late James Hunter Sr. and Margaret (Little) Hunter. He married Monica A. (Hannak) Hunter on Sept. 13, 1982.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Years ago, he was employed as a truck driver for an ice cream company. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family, playing dartball, fishing, gardening, and attending flea markets.
Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 39 years, Monica A. (Hannak) Hunter; his two sons, James Hunter III and wife Jill and Thomas Hunter and wife Penny, all of Everson; his six grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Elizabeth Gross and husband Harry of Mount Pleasant and William Hunter and wife Susan of Delmont; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marie Wajuski; his brother, Jack Hunter; and his three sisters, Jane Gross, Juanita Hunter, and Donna Lauther.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. Thursday
in the funeral home chapel where a funeral service will be held
at 8 p.m. Thursday
with Pastor Bryan Higbee officiating.
Final resting place will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
