Obituary

James Edward Hawk, 86 of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township), passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Jim was born June 3, 1934 in East Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Lawrence and Edith (Thomas) Hawk. He married Carrie Rozella (Barron) Hawk on May 30, 1954. They were married for 66 years.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather. He was a retired coal miner and worshipped at the New Beginnings Church of God of Prophecy in Everson, Pa.

Jim enjoyed working on vehicles and rebuilding motors. In years past, he enjoyed playing numerous musical instruments such as the harmonica, mandolin, fiddle, and banjo. He also loved to watch professional wrestling.

Jim will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife, Carrie Rozella (Barron) Hawk; his six sons: James (Kim), Lawrence (Cynthia), Wendell (Karen), Rodney (Sheila), Timothy (Cheryl), and George (Janie), and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: his brothers, Vernon & Clyde and his sisters, Thelma, Pauline, and Mary.
