Howard Edward Donaldson, 75, of Connellsville Township, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, in UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh. Ed was born May 7, 1947, in Indian Head, a son of the late Bruce E. and Lena Gertrude (Hillen) Donaldson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Vonda Eileen (Eiford) Donaldson; his second wife, Vera Martha (Shawley) Donaldson; his daughter, Tonya Donaldson; his grandchild, Ivory Kelly; his sister, Rosetta Donaldson; and his brother, James Donaldson.
Ed was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He worked for many years as a laborer with Ritenour, Nicholson, and Bowers lumber mills and was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1966. He was a Golden Gloves boxer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo, horseshoes, and playing cards Ed was also a member of the Donegal American Legion and the Connellsville Eagles.
Ed will be sadly missed by his loving family, his four children, John Donaldson (Tina), Denise Murphy (Monty), Christie Gettemy (Chris), and Rosie Barnhart (Sam); his two step-children, Kathy Savage (Barry) and Frank Kelly; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his five siblings, Sam Donaldson, Kenny Donaldson (Sharon), Carl Donaldson, Louise Hall (Jim), and Charles Donaldson (Robin); his special friend, Donna Pritts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING ST. , SCOTTDALE ( www.fergusonfunerals.com ). Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday . Graveside committal service and interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Love Lasts Forever!
