Heather E. (Overly) Smith, 45, of Hunker, wife of Justin K. Smith, passed away at 6 a.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2022, in Redstone Highlands Healthcare, Greensburg. Heather was born Aug. 22, 1976, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of James and Thelma (Fulmer) Overly, of Hunker. She married Justin K. Smith on Aug. 21, 1999. Heather was a devoted wife and mother. She graduated from Southmoreland High School, Class of 1994. She was a stay-at-home housewife and mother. Heather attended Word of Life Church in Greensburg prior to her illness. She enjoyed decorating and refurbishing furniture and spending time with family and friends. Heather will be sadly missed by her loving family: her husband of 22 years, Justin K. Smith; her son, Maddox (Max) Smith; her parents, James and Thelma (Fulmer) Overly; her sisters, Kim Perkey (Scott) and Bonnie Biagini (Pete); brother-in-law, Tommy Squib; father-in-law, Richard Smith; mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Rex and Beverly Thayer; brother-in-law, Preston Smith (Jamie); nephews and nieces, Scott, Jim and Angie Perkey, Cody Overly, Dylan Biagini, Meadow and Forrest Smith and TJ and Marissa Squib; and several aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tracy Squib (July 20, 2020); and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Heather will be remembered for her feisty personality and her kind heart. She will be missed by many but never forgotten. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale ( www.fergusonfunerals.com ). Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Richard Sementilli, of Calvary Baptist Church, New Stanton, officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Greenlick Cemetery. Love Lasts Forever.
