Obituary

Hazel Almetta (Conn) Becker, 76, of Dawson, (Lower Tyrone Township), passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at her residence. Hazel was born Feb. 6, 1939, near Dawson, in Lower Tyrone Township, a daughter of the late Emerson and Ruth (Oldland) Conn. She was married to William L. Becker, who passed away Oct. 17, 1982. Hazel was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was employed for many years as an advertising sales associate for the Daily Courier in Connellsville and was a member of the Tyrone Presbyterian Church. She also graduated from Perry Township High School, Class of 1957, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hazel will be sadly missed by her loving family; her four daughters, Linda (Becker) McElfresh and her husband, John, of Perryopolis, Beverly (Becker) Butler and her husband, Douglas, of Dawson, Cindy (Becker) Morris and her husband, Wayne, of Vanderbilt, and Betty Jo (Becker) Sump and her husband, William, of Ledbetter, Texas; her five grandchildren, Robert Johnston and his wife, Sharon, David Evon, Shane Gilmore and his wife, Reena, Jessica Butler and April Morris; her four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Johnston, Mia Johnston, Hailey Hayden and Brandi Hayden; her brother, Richard Conn, of Dawson; her sister, Lucille (Conn) Leonard, of Dawson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Conn. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. Family and friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Cochran Cemetery next to her late husband. Love Lasts Forever!
