Harry William Crossan Jr., 85, of Scottdale, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, at his residence.
Harry was born April 27, 1935, in Scottdale, a son of the late Harry William and Ruth Alverta (Snyder) Crossan. He was married to Connie S. (Sullenberger) Crossan.
Harry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was employed as a machinist for many years at DME (Detroit Mold & Engineering) in Youngwood. Years ago, he worked at Robertshaw Controls and at Walworth Valve. Harry was a longtime and faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Scottdale, where he played dartball. A graduate of Scottdale High School, Class of 1953, he served as a SP4 in the U.S. Army following the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Scottdale BPO Elks Lodge #777, the Scottdale American Legion, and the East Huntingdon Sportsman's Association. He enjoyed rooting for the Pittsburgh sports teams, playing golf at Robertshaw Acres, hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking.
Harry will be sadly missed by his loving family: his wife, Connie S. (Sullenberger) Crossan; his daughter, Cathy Dzambo and her husband George of East Huntingdon Township; his grandsons, Andrew Dzambo of Norman, Okla., and Stephen Dzambo and his wife Kara of Youngwood; his stepchildren, Cheryl Duvall, and Russell and Steven Secrest; his step-greatgrandchild,
Braden Jones; his brother, Jim Crossan and his wife Carole of Latrobe; and his niece, Marisa Brown and husband Brian and their children, Ethan and Aubrey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Francis Crossan.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887-5300, www.fergusonfunerals.com . Family and friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, the hour of funeral services in Trinity United Methodist Church, with Pastor Bob Nagy officiating.
Graveside committal service and interment will be in Scottdale Cemetery, with full military honors bestowed by the Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard Burial Detail.
