Obituary

Harold Wayne Watson, 85, of Scottdale, passed away at 12:07 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022, in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mt. Pleasant. Wayne was born Sept. 4, 1936, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Harold John and Dorothy Jane (Brown) Watson. He married Barbara Jean (Bayha) Watson on Sept. 10, 1986. Wayne was a devoted husband and father. He retired after working as a die maker at Teledyne Summerhill Industries, Scottdale, with 34 years of service. Wayne was a graduate of Scottdale High School, Class of 1954, and served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Scottdale B.P.O. Elks Lodge No. 777, Mt. Pleasant Library, and East Huntingdon Sportsman's Association. Wayne enjoyed reading and target shooting, and was an avid bicyclist. Wayne will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 35 years, Barbara Jean (Bayha) Watson; and his two daughters, Vicki Lynn Watson and Kristi Watson, both of Baltimore, Md. Family and friends will be received from noon to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Doug Yauger officiating. Harold's final resting place will be in Scottdale Cemetery.
