Gertrude F. "Cookie" Brown, 70 of Scottdale (Kingview) passed away at 8:20 PM Friday, February 24, 2023 in the Scottdale Manor & Rehabilitation Center, East Huntingdon Township. Cookie was born March 16, 1952 in Mount Pleasant, a daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Elizabeth (Fitzsimmons) Bisel. She married Carl E. Brown on March 19, 1971.

Cookie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She graduated from Connellsville High School, Class of 1970 and was a member of the Scottdale Fireman's Club. She spent several years making cookies and dressing like Mrs. Santa Claus for the children's Christmas parties!

Cookie will be sadly missed by her loving family; her husband of 51 years, Carl E. Brown; her daughter, Tracie L. Brown; her granddaughter, Skylar N. Carnes; her brother-in-law, Harry Brown and wife Linda; her sister, Henrietta Leighty; her many nieces and nephews; and her 10 cats that she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son-in-law, Stephen A. Anthony, who passed away on February 10, 2023; her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Emma (Cunningham) Brown; and her sister, Bertha McCune.
