Obituary

George F. Williams, 80, of Ruffs Dale, passed away at 1:50 am Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greenburg.

George was born March 15, 1937, in Mill Run, Fayette County, a son of the late George and Mary Ann (Rugg) Williams.

He married the former Charlotte S. Suter on July 19, 1963.

George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was employed as a truck driver for 3 Star Trucking and also worked as a laborer at Westmoreland Manor, both in Greensburg. He was an active member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #446 and a member of the Cottonpicker CB Club, where he held a board position. George enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a PFC Tech overseas during the Korean Conflict.

George will be sadly missed by his loving family: His wife of 54 years, Charlotte S. (Suter) Williams; his daughters, Becky Lane and her husband George "Sam" of Ruffs Dale and Pamela King and her husband Greg of Smithton; his five grandchildren, Danny Lane, Brandon Williams (Marissa), Wade Williams, Kristen Glemba, and Gary King; his seven great-grandchildren, Mikey, Baylee, Mayson, and Merik Williams, Jayla and Tyler Glemba, and Allie King; his four sisters, Gladys White, Bertha Richter, Stella Bagent, and Rella Mae Krumanacker (Lewis); his very close family friends, Shelly Volosin, Dominick Volosin, Izabella Marzano, and Francesca Marzano; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, George Robert "Moose" Williams (8/12/13); and his brother, Robert Williams.
