George Alfred Klug, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Greenock and Acme, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Scottdale Manor & Wellness Center in East Huntingdon Township. George was born Sept. 23, 1929, in McKeesport, a son of the late George and Anna (Felix) Klug. He was married to Janet (Hallas) Klug, who passed away in November 2018. George was a devoted husband, brother and uncle. He graduated from McKeesport High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the Marine Corps from 1948-1952. George retired from Westinghouse Waltz Mill facility as a nuclear engineer, and years ago was employed at the McKeesport National Tube Works of U.S. Steel Corporation. A member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenock, he was an avid skier, fisherman, golfer, boater and enjoyed many other activities. George will be sadly missed by his loving family; his brother, John W. Klug, of Scottdale; his two sisters, Virginia Rush and husband, Roger, of Scottdale and Barbara DeNicola and husband, Dave, of East Aurora, N.Y.; his niece and caregiver, Kim Schwartz, of Tarrs; his niece, Karen Fao, of Dawson; his nephew, Roger Rush, of Hunker; and many other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry (Margie) Klug; and his sister, Margaret Klug.
