Obituary

George W. Clark, 92, of Normalville, passed away at 8:33 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at his residence. George was born June 12, 1923 in Saltlick Township, a son of the late Samuel and Mabel (Shultz) Clark. He was married to Minnie Nicholson Clark, who passed away on March 4, 2008.

George was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a hard working farmer and owner/operator of the George Clark Lumber Company. He enjoyed his farm, his grandchildren, gardening, and growing potatoes. George was an active member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, in Connellsville and a veteran of the US Army, serving as a sergeant during World War II.

George will be sadly missed by his loving family; his four children, Ruby George and her husband Marvin and George W. Clark Jr. and his wife Pascale, all of Normalville, Joyce Walker and her husband Bruce of Somerset, and Bryce Clark and his wife Sarah of Normalville; his 21 grandchildren; his 25 great grandchildren; his sister, Florina Nicola of Indian Head; his brother, Charles Clark of Acme; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Miller (2015); and his son, Oliver Daniel Clark (5/3/16); his two sisters, Alice Layman and Mary Hixson; and his two brothers, John and Braden Clark.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (724-887-5300 / www.fergusonfunerals.com / GPS: N40 degrees 06.136, W79 degrees 35.278). Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, Connellsville with Timothy Stash officiating. Final resting place will be in Dan Snyder Cemetery.
