Gene I. Hough, 87 of Blairsville (formerly of Scottdale) passed away at 5:30 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in the Twin Lakes Rehabilitation Center, Greensburg. Gene was born October 14, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late Robert T. and Winifred (Null) Hough, who passed away on August 9, 2002 and August 12, 1998 respectively. He married Donna Zilka Hough in 1982.

Gene was employed for 36 years at Davidson's Stone Quarry where he served as a heavy equipment hi-lift operator and truck driver. He enjoyed hunting, roller skating, and traveling across the US with his wife.

Gene will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 40 years, Donna Zilka Hough; his five children, Dennis, Darla, Dawn, Deanna, and Doris; his siblings, John Philip Hough, Walter Alvin Hough, and Margaret Roble; his sister-in-law, Elaine Hough; his brother-in-law, Ben Roble; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Ellen Marie Fox, Daniel Robert Hough, Joan Null McIntyre, and James William Hough; his brothers-in-law, David Fox and Lloyd McIntyre; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hough, Gladys Hough, and Rita Hough.
