Gary Allen Pravlik, 66, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away with loving family by his side at Independence Health System's Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Born April 1, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant, he was a son of the late George Yezek and Margaret Pravlik. Gary was a graduate of Southmoreland High School, class of 1975. He was a journeyman machinist who loved the outdoors and animals. Gary was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years as a leader, where he enjoyed camping and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers George Yezek, Jr., Ronald Yezek, and Ralph Yezek. Gary is survived by his loving wife of nearly 48 years, Mary (Szwed) Pravlik; his children Adam (Amber) Pravlik of Scottdale, and Alicia (Frank) Rager of Jeannette; his brothers Gerald (Patricia) Yezek of Mt. Pleasant, and Carl Pravlik of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren Ayden Pravlik and Mia Rager; and numerous nieces, nephews, Scouts, and friends. As per Gary's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gary's name to the Humane Society of Westmoreland County, where he adopted his loving dog, Cocoa.
