Obituary

Gary Edward Brannaka, 68 of Hunker passed away at 11:10 AM Friday, May 6, 2022 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe surrounded by his family. Gary was born on the Fourth of July, 1953, a son of the late Harold Edward Brannaka and Shirley E. (Tillotson) Brannaka Crawford. He married Debra (Bentz) Brannaka on November 6, 1976.

Gary was a Devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from Southmoreland High School, Class of 1971 and received his bachelor's degree from Washington and Jefferson (W&J) in 1975. Gary was employed as a quality control specialist with Electro Glass  Products, retiring in 2020. Previously he worked at Sony for 17 years until the plant closed. He was an avid football fan coaching the Steelers from his recliner in the basement.  He never missed deer hunting with his family and always made the best soups. If not watching football or hunting you could find him staying in shape at Planet Fitness, taking his motorcycle for a joyride oftentimes ending up at a festival or spending time with his wife, children and grandkids.

Gary will be sadly missed by his loving Family; his wife of 46 years; his children Kelly and Drew McClellan of Port Republic, MD and Andrea and Brandon Gerst of New Stanton, PA; his grandchildren Hailey, Hannah and Harper, Brayden, Lucas and Alyssa; his sibling Alan Brannaka and wife Patty.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE

( www.fergusonfunerals.com ). At Gary's request, there will be no viewing visitation. The family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date. Love Lasts Forever!
