FLORENCE ALICE (HODGKISS) EICHER, 89 of Mount Pleasant (Formerly of East Huntingdon Township), passed away at 3:25 AM Saturday, June 21, 2025 in the Villages @ Amber House in Mount Pleasant. Florence was born February 16, 1936 at Barren Run in South Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late Albert and Pearl V. (Kuhn) Hodgkiss. She was married to Melvin L. Eicher, who passed away on January 12, 2013.

Florence was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Mt. Joy Covenant Brethren Church in Mt. Pleasant and a former deaconess. She graduated from East Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1954. She supported and donated food to the church funeral luncheons and enjoyed playing the piano and organ.

Florence will be sadly missed by her loving family; her two daughters, Cynthia K. Beranek and husband Ronald J. Beranek and Susan E. Summy and husband Orin Summey; her four grandchildren, Christopher L. Beranek, Lisa M. Leonard and husband Michael, Jared Summy, and Brian Summy and wife Melissa; her three great grandchildren, Cassandra Streng and husband Justin, Domenic Summy and friend, Abby Hutzell, and Zachary Summy and friend, Olivia Vauhan; her forthcoming great-great grandchild in October; her siblings, Nancy Lint, Allan Hodgkiss and wife Judy, and Mae Stoian; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Hodgkiss; her sister-in-law, Eileen Hodgkiss; and her two brothers-in-law, Leonard Lint and Nick Stoian.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday in the Funeral Home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10-11 AM Tuesday in the Mt. Joy Covenant Brethren Church, Route #31, Mt. Pleasant followed by funeral services at 11 AM Tuesday with Pastor Tom Shirer officiating. Interment will be private in Mt. Joy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to; Mt.
