Fiorello "Fritz" Antonini, 91 of Dawson, passed away at 9:21 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his home. Fritz was born December 29, 1927 in Elwood City, a son of the late Emedio and Domenica (Orsini) Antonini. He married Alma J. (McKnight) Antonini on December 17, 1949.
Fritz was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was the proprietor of a trucking business, working deliveries for C&C Lumber in Tarrs. Years ago, he worked on the railroad and at the Layton Brickyard. He also built many houses and assisted contractor, Stanley Johnson in the construction business. Fritz was a loyal and faithful member of the Bryan United Methodist Church where he worked fundraisers and built their ice cream stand for the annual fair. He also enjoyed attending the Brownfield Community Center activities and served as janitor and building/grounds superintendent. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Perryopolis and actively enjoyed fundraising, singing, bowling, hunting, and fishing.
Fritz will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 69 years, Alma J. (McKnight) Antonini; his daughter, Loretta Williams and her husband Tom of Dawson; his two grandsons, Chad Austin Williams and his wife Christin of Waynesboro and Troy Aaron Williams and his wife Amity of Dawson; his great grandchildren, Matthew, Gabriella, Cameron, and Grace; his sister, Ergilia "Gia" Fields of Perryopolis; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters, Philomena Stiffy, Ann Caporella, Corinda Wasko, and Ida Rock.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the RALPH GALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 501 RAILROAD STREET , DAWSON ( 724-529-2611 / www.fergusonfunerals.com ). Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10-11 AM Saturday in Bryan United Methodist Church where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday with Pastor Ed Sutton officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Cochran Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Bryan United Methodist Church or Brownfield Community Center. Love Lasts Forever!
