Eva Bednarz, 93, formerly of Rillton and North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. Eva was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Rillton, a daughter of the late Ivan and Patrinka Horvat. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Shuster; her second husband, Stephen Bednarz; and her son, Eric Bednarz. Additionally, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Eva was employed for many years as a census taker for Sewickley Township and was a faithful member of St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church in Herminie. She enjoyed baking, gardening and spending time outdoors. Eva will be sadly missed by her loving family: her daughter, Jacqueline Willis and her husband, Wayne, of North Huntingdon; her granddaughter, Kira Eyler and her husband, Dan, of Trafford, and their son, Damon Eyler.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (724-887-5300 / www.fergusonfunerals.com). At the request of the decedent, there will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. Final resting place will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
