Ethel Mae (Stants) Zawalsh, 89, of Ruffsdale, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law in South Huntingdon Township. Ethel Mae was born Aug. 13, 1925, a daughter of the late Lloyd H. and Eva E. (Weible) Stants. She was married to Edward Andrew Zawalsh, who passed away in 1984. Ethel Mae was a devoted mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a longtime member of Glenwood United Methodist Church and a volunteer for the Westmoreland County Food Bank. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and her pet dog, Buddy. Ethel Mae will be sadly missed by her loving family; her daughter, Pat Gallagher and her husband, Ron, of Ruffsdale; her five grandchildren, Eric Zawalsh, Adam Zawalsh, Dana Swank, Ronald Gallagher (Jennifer) and Jason Gallagher; her nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald E. Zawalsh (1985); a sister, Virginia Milson; and four brothers, Nelson, Wendell, Emory and Leroy Stants. She was the last surviving member of the Lloyd H. and Eva E. Weible Stants family. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B.
