Ethel Mae (Pletcher) Rupp, 79, of Ruffsdale, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, in Scottdale Manor and Rehabilitation Center, East Huntingdon Township. Ethel was born June 23, 1938, in White, a daughter of the late Earl Franklin and Ruth (Cramer) Pletcher. She married Paul D. Rupp on Oct. 14, 1967. Ethel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a longtime and faithful member of Scottdale Church of Christ and was active in the Joy Class of the church. Ethel graduated from South Huntingdon High School, class of 1957, and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. Ethel will be sadly missed by her loving family: her husband, Paul D. Rupp, with whom she would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary later this year; her daughter, Audra Kubicek and her husband David, of Ruffsdale; her two grandsons, Michael and Justin; her sister, Marie Hough and her husband Ronald, of Scottdale; and numerous beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith Toward and Betty Thomas; and a brother, James Pletcher.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with her pastor, Preacher Rick Phillips, officiating. Chapel committal service and interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
