Eric Hodgkiss, 87

of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township) passed away at 2:02 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026 in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. Eric was born on January 11, 1938 in Alverton, a son of the late William and Flora (Mungall) Hodgkiss. He married Dorothy (Ansell) Hodgkiss on April 11, 1968.

Eric was a graduate of Southmoreland High School and worked as a machinist at Brown Bavaria in Greensburg after serving honorably in the US Navy from 1956-1958 on the USS Yorktown. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and tinkering in the yard. But he mostly liked talking. A lot. To anyone who would listen. Usually about hunting, fishing, and camping.

Eric is survived by his wife Dorothy and children, Nicholas Adam Hodgkiss (Mary), Sharon Mae Connley (Don), and Amy Jo Wade (Paul). He is also survived by four grandchildren, Nicole, Cassie Mae, Miranda, and Brandon; seven great-grandchildren, Grady, Lindy, Eliza, Avelynn, Dani, Kaleb, and Madilyn; and sister Jean Hatfield. He is preceded in death by his sister Ruth and brother William Hodgkiss.
