Obituary

Elias Mason Shean, 10, of Greensburg, passed away New Years Day, Jan. 1, 2019, at his home. Eli was born Feb. 13, 2008, in Latrobe, a son of Laura Jean (Graft) Myers, of Greensburg, and Jason Michael Shean, of Scottdale. Eli was a loving son, grandson great-grandson and brother. He was a fourth grade student at Hutchinson Elementary School in the Greensburg Salem School District and played baseball in the Maxwell Activities Association, Hempfield Township. Eli enjoyed his superheros, candy and was affectionately referred to as "Rotten Boy". Eli will be sadly missed by his loving family; his mother, Laura Jean (Graft) Myers (Edward), of Greensburg; his father, Jason Michael Shean (Samantha Eutsey), of Scottdale; his three sisters, Dannelle, Lillian and Allyssa Shean; his two brothers, Daniel Eutsey and Parker Shean; his maternal grandparents, Scott and Sandy (Grimm) Graft, of Mt. Pleasant; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Susan (Leighty) Piper, of Scottdale; his paternal great-grandmother, Henrietta Leighty, of Everson; his paternal grandfather, Michael Shean, of Latrobe; his maternal step-grandparents, Edward and Donna (Henry) Myers; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Eli was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfather, Carl Leighty; his maternal great-grandmother, Lucille Murphy; his maternal great-grandfather, Frank Grimm; his maternal step-great-grandfather, James Myers; and his faithful pet dog, Jethro.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert V. Thoma officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, Alverton.
