Eleanor (Hixson) Charles, 95, of Tarrs (East Huntingdon Township), passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022. She was born Aug. 10, 1926, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Kuhns) Hixson. Eleanor was married to Melvin F. Charles, who passed away in 1954. Eleanor was a lifelong and faithful member of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church in Tarrs, and was retired from the threading department at the former Modulus Corporation in Mt. Pleasant. She took enjoyment raising her loyal pet cats, "Jerry" and "Rickey"! Eleanor will be sadly missed by her loving family; her two nephews, William (Wendy) Hixson, of Cranberry Township, and Gary (Susan) Hixson, of RuffsDale; and several great-nieces and -nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Irene Hixson, Charles Hixson and Ray Hixson; and her nephews, Ronald and Charles Hixson. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Sunday with Pastor Ralph Mostoller officiating.
