Edward I. Trayter, 68 of RuffsDale (South Huntingdon Township) passed away at 8:39 PM Monday, February 15, 2021 in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. Ed was born May 13, 1952 in Mount Pleasant, a son of the late Louis and Alice B. (Mellinger) Trayter. He married Cynthia (Clark) Trayter on February 26, 1977.

Ed was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was employed for many years with Ligonier Construction and was a graduate of South Huntingdon High School, Class of 1970. Ed enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family!

Ed will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 43 years, Cynthia (Clark) Trayter; his two sons, Tony Trayter and wife Julie of Uniontown and Joseph Trayter and wife Lisa of RuffsDale; his four grandchildren, Ellie, Emma, Eva, and Zakk; his two sisters, Joanne Moore and husband Charlie and Donna Dyson and husband Billie, all of Florida; his four brothers, Delmar Trayter and wife Frannie of Ohio, John Trayter and wife Linda of RuffsDale, Ron Trayter and wife Sue of RuffsDale, and David Trayter and wife Merribeth of Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his loyal pet dog, Maggie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Ida Byers and Margaret Wood; and his brother, Arthur Trayter.
