Edna K. (Shallenberger) Geary, 80, of Dawson (Lower Tyrone Township), passed away at 3:43 a.m. Good Friday, March 30, 2018, at her residence.
Edna was born July 3, 1937, in East Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late Byron and Margaret Marie (Layton) Shallenberger.
She married Ronald E. Geary on Aug. 23, 1965.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Years ago, she was employed at Morris's Clothing Store at Laurel Mall and at Girard Goodwin Cleaners. She graduated from East Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1956 and was a faithful member of the Pennsville Baptist Church.
Edna will be sadly missed by her loving family: her husband of 52 years, Ronald E. Geary; her two daughters, Karla Bonnell and husband Chuck of Springdale, Ark., and Linda Prah and husband Jamie Lee of Elizabeth; her seven grandchildren, Christopher and Cody McAbee, Tyler, Jacob, and Jared Prah, and Meagan and Josh Bonnell; her sister, Jean Luczka of Everson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, infant Sarah Louise Shallenberger, Eva Mae Cunningham, Esther Ruth Cottom, Betty Hixson, Ethel Shallenberger, and Bill, Jim, Ralph, and Harry J. Shallenberger.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887-5300. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, the hour of service, in Pennsville Baptist Church, with pastors Robert Bixel and Lee Maley co-officiating.
Private burial will be in Greenlick Cemetery.
