Edna L. Smith Firestone, 78, of Scottdale, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Edna was born March 14, 1937, in Rayburn Township, Armstrong County, a daughter of the late Russell L. and Ella M. Chestnut Smith. She was married to Robert A. Firestone Sr., whom she married on March 10, 1976. Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Scottdale American Legion Post 240 Ladies Auxiliary. Edna enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, baking, gardening and playing bingo. In addition to her husband, Edna will be sadly missed by her loving family; her five children, Toni Lynne Stirling and her husband, Scott, of Kittanning, Richard Ferraro and his wife, Alison, of Molla, Wendy VanDyke and her husband, Howard, of Scottdale, Robert A. Firestone Jr., of Scottdale, and Karen Firestone and her fiance, Mike Hoza, of Jeannette; her two stepdaughters and two stepsons; her three grandchildren, Cody, Howard and Matthew VanDyke; her two sisters, Sally and Phyllis; and three brothers, Russ, Floyd and Roy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Smith. Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B.
