Earl E. "Bud" Leichliter Sr., 66, of Scottdale, formerly of Connellsville, passed away peacefully at his home, always being surrounded and comforted by his loving family, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017.
Bud was born Feb. 18, 1951, in Connellsville, a son of the late Luther and Dorothy (Strothers) Leichliter.
He married the former Patricia L. McQuade on Sept. 11, 1969.
Bud was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Prior to his retirement, Bud worked various jobs until he started his own business, Leichliter Painting, in which he took great pride. Bud was a member of the Slovak Club, Polish Club, and Fairview Club, all of Connellsville. He enjoyed working around his home, always painting and improving things.
Bud will be sadly missed by his loving family: His wife of 48 years, Patricia L. (McQuade) Leichliter; his daughter, Tonya Crise and her husband Matthew; and Bud's special grandsons, Garric Crise and his wife Kayla and Clayton Crise; and Bud's blessed great-grandson, Kain Matthew Crise; and his son, Earl "Buddy" Leichliter and his wife Jeanna and their children, Bj, Jimmy, Peyton, and Cali Leichliter. Bud was very close to his sister, Ella Mae "Lucky" Dove (Mark); and his brother, James "Jim" Leichliter (Terry). He also was survived by his special family member, Lisa and Bill Kozel; his sisters, Gail Cole (Joe), Dorothy Leichliter, and Mildred Montgomery (Joe); and his brothers, Chucky Leichliter
(Lucy), and Bill, Raymond, and Bobby Leichliter; and his special friends, Bud and Karen Wells. He will be greatly missed by his fur baby and constant companion, Benji.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Barb Nicklow and Nonie Martin; his father- and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Ann (Hodge) McQuade; his sisters-in-law, Colleen Nicholson and Elizabeth Hardy; his brothers-in-law, Macky McQuade, John Bassin, and T-Ray Hardy; and his special nephew, James "Jimmy" Leichliter.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887- 5300, www.fergusonfunerals.com. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday, the hour of service, in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be private.
