Duane Robert "Butch" Frund Jr., 56 of Scottdale, passed peacefully into heaven at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his residence.
Butch was born January 23, 1961 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Duane R. and Marjorie (Fox) Frund who passed away in 1991 and 2000 respectively.
He married the former Beulah Grimm on November 3, 1984.
Butch was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was employed as a machinist with Tri-State Hydraulics in Charleroi and a graduate of Southmoreland High School, Class of 1979. Butch was a lifetime member of the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) and a member of Pennsville Baptist Church. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and enjoyed working on cars and helping people, anyone who needed it!
Butch will be sadly missed by his loving family; his wife of 33 years, Beulah (Grimm) Frund; his three children, Dana Frund, Duane R. Frund III and his wife Nicole, all of Scottdale, and Erik Frund of Uniontown; his three grandchildren whom he adored, Riyah Younkin, Nora Frund, and Duane R. Frund IV; his three sisters, Saundra Cagnina of Connellsville, Judy Gross of Scottdale, and Vanetta Lincoln and her companion Rose of Greensburg; his brother, Mark Frund and his wife Suzanne of Martinsburg, W.Va.; his mother-in-law, Nora Oldland of Scottdale; his brother-in-law, Richard King of Connellsville; his special cousin-in-law, Jean Grimm of Scottdale; several nieces and nephews, who loved him very much; and his faithful canine companion, Mona.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Salvatore Cagnina.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale (724-887-5300). Family and friends will be received from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10-1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Terry Murray officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Mt. Joy Cemetery next to his late mother.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to assist the family. The Scottdale VFD will hold a memorial service at 12 noon Wednesday in the funeral home.
