Dorrance L. Graft, 89 of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township) passed away at 12:15 PM Sunday, March 27, 2022 at his residence. Dorrance was born August 18, 1932 in East Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Gilbert H. and Alverda M. (Hawk) Graft who passed away in 1971 and 2006 respectively. He married Sara Grace (Felgar) Graft on January 7, 1956 and she passed away on May 2, 2018.
Dorrance was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a self-employed professional carpenter and proprietor of Graft Carpentry, a family business he founded in 1971. He was a graduate of Scottdale High School, Class of 1950 and was a faithful member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. A veteran of the US Army, he served his country during the Korean Conflict. Dorrance enjoyed watching westerns on TV, spending time with his family, and taking trips to the Hawk's Cabin.
Dorrance will be sadly missed by his loving family; his six children, Barbara Ann Stern, Tammie Lee Grimm, Beverly Sue Graft, Gary Lynn Graft and wife Dee, Lisa Jane Burkhart and husband Brian, and Lori Jean Gasbarre and husband Michael, all of Scottdale; his 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Wright (Lee), Amy Clawiter (Matthew), Rob Stern (Nikkole), Stefanie Bottles (Brent), Matthew Grimm (Paige), Heather Graft, Audrey Comerford (Jake), Josh Burkhart (Rachel), Emily Burkhart (Michael), Natalie Genard, and Chelsie Schomer (Ryan); and his 24 great grandchildren.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM Wednesday in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church followed by funeral services at 1 PM Wednesday with Pastor Tom Shirer officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township next to his late wife. The Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard will bestow full military honors at graveside. The family extends appreciation to Amedysis Hospice and to the family's "6th sister", Lynn Hann!
