Dorothy Louise "Dot" Rizza, a beloved resident of Connellsville, PA, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Connellsville, she lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of many with her generosity, humor, and spirit.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Venton "Skeeter" Barron, and her second husband, Richard "Red" Rizza, both of whom she cherished deeply. She was also preceded in death by her son, Geoffrey Barron, whose loss she carried with grace throughout her life.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children: Shirley Alt, Mike Barron, and Kenny Barron. She is also survived by her dear brother, Jimmy, and her sister Donna Rae. She was a proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, each of whom brought joy to her heart.

A graduate of Connellsville Joint Highschool, class of 1956. Dorothy received her Associates Degree in Applied Science for Food Service Management from Westmoreland Community College in 1990.

Throughout her life, Dorothy worked at Harmon House and the Volkswagen plant, where she earned the respect and admiration of her coworkers. She had a passion for animals and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, from participating in the Appalachian Wagon Train to playing bingo. She also had a deep love for motorcycles and could often be seen enjoying the open road, and her love for books was evident in her many hours spent reading.

Dorothy's love for life and her warm, caring nature will be missed by all who knew her. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of those who were touched by her kindness and joyful spirit.
