Dorothy L. Moore, 90

of Scottdale passed away at 6:59 PM Saturday, March 14, 2026 at her residence. Dorothy was born on August 19, 1935 in Fairfield Township, a daughter and one of ten children of the late John and Dorothy

(Horner) Berkey. She was married to Reverend Clifford H. Moore, who passed away on September 8, 2007.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She graduated from Ligonier High School, Class of 1953 and the Latrobe Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed for 40 years at Latrobe, Frick, and Monsour hospitals as a Registered Nurse. Dorothy worshipped at the Trinity Methodist Church in Scottdale, was a member of the D.A.R Braddock Trails Chapter, and volunteered with the Food Bank. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, puzzle books, and gardening. Dorothy always looked forward to going on annual family vacations to Canada and trips to the Caribbean with her son.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her loving family; her three children, Richard Moore, Marsha Richter, and Gloria Lebe and husband Calvin; her two grandchildren, Edward Richter III and Amanda Lebe (Cody Cline); her “soon to arrive” great grandson; her two sisters-in-law, Esther Berkey and Alice Edwards; numerous nieces and nephews; and her 4th child, Dreyfus (the cat). In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Edward Richter, Jr.; six brothers, Jack, Richard, Edward, Dave Berkey and two infant brothers, Samuel and Daniel Berkey; and her three sisters, Alice Stufft, Evelyn Shirey, and Mary Jane Shaw.

Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 SPRING STREET, SCOTTDALE (www.fergusonfunerals.com). Family and friends will be received from 12-3 & 5-8 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Additional viewing will be held from 10-11 AM Wednesday in Trinity Methodist Church, Scottdale followed by funeral services at 11 AM Wednesday with Pastor Janet Lord officiating. Graveside committal service and interment will be in Barren Run Cemetery next to her late husband. Memorials may be made to one’s charity of choice. Love Lasts Forever!
