Dorothy E. (McGinley) Davis, 96 of Scottdale passed away at 10:50 PM

Friday, December 9, 2022 in Scottdale Manor & Rehabilitation Center, East Huntingdon Township. Dorothy was born June 24, 1926 in Everson, a daughter of the late James E. and Pearl (Chain) McGinley. She married Claude E. Davis on June 22, 1948 and he passed away on February 4, 1997.

Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was employed for 16 years at the Murphy Mart-Ames Store, retiring in 1987. Dorothy graduated from Scottdale High School, Class of 1944 and was a longtime and faithful member of the former First Baptist Church in Scottdale where she served as Deaconess, taught Sunday School, and handled treasurer duties for the Jr. Philathea Class. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, traveling, camping, and watching QVC.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her loving family; her daughter, Debra Welling and husband Richard and grandson, Bradley Welling, all of Livonia, Michigan; and her special niece, April Roscoe of Connellsville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James McGinley (1985); her two sisters, Ruth Fox (1987) and Eleanor Rhodes (1995); her special niece, Pamela Stiltenpole (2022); and two brothers and two sisters, all in infancy.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday with Pastor Tom Shirer officiating.
