Dorothy L. "Dot" Boyd, 89, of Scottdale (Kingview), passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mt. Pleasant. Dot was born Dec. 17, 1925, in Upper Tyrone Township, a daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Eicher) Miner. Dot was devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She graduated from Scottdale High School, Class of 1943, the El Paso, Texas Business School and the General Motors Secretarial School in Pittsburgh. A retired secretary, last working at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, she was previously employed at Laurel Ford, Hixson and Graft and Weisel Ford. Dot enjoyed her active memberships with the Everson Evangelical Church, Scottdale Business and Professional Women, Kingview Ladies and Dames of Malta. She took pleasure in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and traveling. Dot will be sadly missed by her loving family; her two sons, James R. Dugger and his special companion, Barb Patton, and Fred Dugger and his wife, Becky, all of Scottdale; her four grandchildren, James R. Dugger III (Karen), Andrew S. Dugger (Melissa), Alexander and Aaron Dugger; her five great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Kelsey, Maggie, Jacob and Alexis; her brother, Roy Miner, of Scottdale; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Bucky" Boyd; and her two sisters, Betty King and Phyllis Blystone. Family and friends were received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastors Kevin Murrell and Robert Patton co-officiating.
