Don was born October 29, 1919 in Lower Tyrone Township, a son of the late Wilber and Bessie (Newell) Keffer. He was married to Alice E. (Holt) Keffer , who passed away on July 20, 2009.

Don was a devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
