Donald Ray Geyer Jr., 75, of Scottdale, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Don was born April 28,1948, in East Huntingdon Township, a son of the late Donald Ray Geyer Sr. and Mary Louise (McLean) Geyer. Don was a 1967 graduate of Southmoreland High School. He worked as a sales/truck driver for Jewel Tea Sales and Entenmann's Bakery and was a bus driver for Quest (Groomes) Transit and Westmoreland County Transit Authority. Don was a retired military veteran with 23 years' service between the Air Force and Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Don is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Laura (Crouch) Geyer. Don will also be sadly missed by his loving family: sons, Michael Geyer and his wife, Pamela, Matthew Geyer, Douglas Geyer and his wife Stephanie; daughter, Misty (Geyer) Booth and her husband, Timothy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Don's siblings, Carl Geyer and wife, Kathy, Melvin Geyer and wife, Ann, Bruce Geyer and wife, Dori, Donna Holsopple and husband, Harry, and Joanne Kerr and husband, Dave; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel followed by a memorial service at 8 p.m. Thursday with Pastors Robert Bixel and Tom Shirer co-officiating. The Scottdale-Everson Honor Guard will bestow final military rites at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
