Donald A. Kooser, 73

of Scottdale (East Huntingdon Township) passed away at 8:43 PM Tuesday, October 27, 2026 in Select Specialty Care, Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe. Don was born on February 22, 1953, a son of the late Donald W. and Delores E. (Eicher) Kooser.

He has two children, Lauren Lindsey (husband Bill) and Lucas Kooser (significant other Mary McElfresh); Sister Pamela (Kooser) Brown (husband Wil); caregiver Dave; and his feline companion/friend Pretty Girl. Don graduated from Southmoreland High School in 1971 where he excelled in sports. Don worked in the Nuclear field for many years. He enjoyed going to NHRA races, enjoyed getting together with all his neighbors , and hosted many ice cream socials in his driveway. He was known as “The Mayor” a true people person.
